Can't get DAOS Catalog to Sync on One Server

I have 4 fairly large (2000 mail files) AIX mail servers with DAOS enabled. Three of them sync and prune with no problem (with DAOS_RESYNC_NUM_THREADS=1 in the ini per Lotus Support, before I put that in I couldn't get any of them to sync.)
The fourth server absolutly refuses to sync. When I run "tell daosmgr resync" it will run for a little while and then give me the error:

Informational - The database /notesdata/dmail10/m12a/smith.nsf has caused the DAOS catalog to become out of sync. Prune operations may be postponed. Please run 'tell daosmgr resync' at the next convenient opportunity to re-synchronize.: File modified at operating-system level while cached, please retry open.

If I run it again this error will come up for a variety of different nsf files but it is somewhat consistent in that if I run it 10 times then I will see many of the same files implicated multiple times.

I have tried to run "tell daosmgr resync force" too and have the same result.

Tonight I'm going to remove the daos catalog and see if rebuilding it from scratch will help. One thing I noticed is that the DAOS catalog on this server is larger than on the other servers, 150 MB, but it does have many more files that are DAOS'ed on it.
